WHAT IS NIDRA YOGA ?
Yoga of conscious dreams and sleep, it is practiced in a lying or sitting position and is based on deep relaxation and concentration exercises.
The lucid visits in interiority allow the practitioner to develop another quality of presence and to establish himself in a state of unity.

PROFESSOR
With her father who has Sri lankan origins, Cécile Seenivasagam began practicing Buddhism and sacred chants since her childhood. Since 2007, she has been passionate about oriental philosophies and spiritualities and has traveled and studied in ashrams (Ramana Maharshi in Tiruvannamalai, Shantivanam...) and monasteries in France (Maison de l'Inspir) and in Asia, mainly in India ( Tushita in Dharamsala).
She spent several years studying with Buddhist masters (notably Sister Giac Nghiem of the Sangha of Thich Nhat Hanh).
Since meeting her teacher André Riehl in 2009, she has devoted herself to Nidrâ Yoga from Kashmir Shaivism and is graduated from the Nidrâ Yoga International training center (training certified by the Federation of Traditional Yoga, the European Yoga Union and the Government of India).
She is also in contact with instructors from different traditions (notably Lakota and Diné medicine men and women) who allow her to deepen her spiritual research.
THE ORIGIN OF NIDRÂ YOGA
"Nidrâ Yoga comes from men and women who, living in forests, were in a very intimate relationship with nature. And like all other humans, they asked themselves the questions : "Is there an origin to life, is there a creator, is it possible to know him ? …» Everywhere on our planet, when men have been confronted with nature , by the mere fact of living there on a daily basis, these types of questions have arisen with acuity.
In Guadeloupe, for example, there are still communities leading a contemplative life very close to nature. Their daily life is not overloaded with activities, projects, desires… They cultivate the land, eat, sleep and live peacefully ; and this contemplative and natural life obviously produces states of greater sensitivity giving access to a direct and intuitive knowledge of the living.
The movement, the activity of nature has been called Shakti in Shaivism or Prakriti in classical Hinduism.
And the function creating and perceiving this same nature has been called Shiva in Tantrism and Purusha in classical Hindu culture. (...)
Nidrâ Yoga is a method that was essentially transmitted orally in the ascetic milieu, and its historical origin remains unclear. However, I was able to do research of two types, the first through meetings and interviews as well as some rare writings. The second as for it was a kind of investigation in the memory.
Nidrâ yoga contains exercises allowing to return very far in the memory of humanity.
And although this can be considered subjective, it seems very likely that this teaching emanates from a time dating back to prehistoric times.
The state of nidrâ was then experienced during a type of walk favoring contemplation…"Andre Riehl
